There's a lot going on at Central and in the lives of its members.  For example...

Clothes Closet

The Clothes Closet meets clothing, hygiene and other needs of men, women and children, from throughout our community.  The Clothes Closet is open on Wednesday afternoons from 1-3 pm.  Everyone is welcome and there are no particular requirements to receive clothing.

Lutheran Community Services of the NW

LCSNW provides counselling and support to families and children in the community.  Central provides meeting and training space for LCS staff and programs.

Good Samaritan Fund

Donations by members to the Good Sam fund are primarily used to help local agencies provide assistance with utilities, rent, gas, food and other needs.  Through S.N.A.P., Volunteers of America, Citygate, All Saints Lutheran food program and others, Central's members provide assistance to those in need.

Mid-City Concerns

Members of Central volunteer with the Meals on Wheels program, delivering meals to residents throughout Spokane.

All Saints Lutheran Community Dinner

On the first Tuesday of each month, members of Central help serve dinner at All Saints for members of the community.

Second Harvest Food Bank

Central Lutheran collects commodities for our local food bank.  Items can be brought to church and placed in the red wagon in the entryway.  Food is delivered to Second Harvest on a regular basis.  Recently, the 2nd Harvest Mobile Food Bank was at Central and distributed almost 6,000 lbs. of food to 150 families!

Eyeglasses Donations

A Lions Club collection box is located on the Welcome Wagon as you enter the church's double doors.  Any used glasses that you no longer need are welcome to be placed in the box.

Scandinavian Bazaar

For several weeks in the spring and fall, women of the church work hard making homemade lefse and Scandinavian cookies and various crafty items.  These are all available for sale and sharing at the Bazaar.  Proceeds from the Bazaar are donated to various organizations and agencies in the area.

Not to be outdone by the women of the church, the men get together to make homemade sausage and a number of them are proficient at a staple of Lutheran tradition...brewing beer.  It all comes together at Oktoberfest with a sausage feed, beer tasting contest, and sausage for sale.  Proceeds go to support the food and clothing ministries at Central Lutheran.
