For God did not give us a Spirit of fear but of power and love and self-control.
- 2 Timothy 1:7

In light of continued news of the spread of COVID-19 and in solidarity with many of the denominations and congregations of our community, many activities at the church are suspended until further notice. This includes but is not limited to:

- Sunday education hour
- Committee meetings
- Circle groups

This decision by your pastor and executive committee was not made out of a sense of fear, but of concern and love for one another. Epidemiologists have taught us that the best way to stop an outbreak such as one we are currently witnessing is to voluntarily social distance, even when we are not experiencing symptoms ourselves. It is out of an abundance of love for neighbor—those who are elderly, immunocompromised, and otherwise fall into the “vulnerable population” category that we have made this decision.

The church office is open by appointment. Links for Sunday worship are posted on our website.

Check in on each other – often. If you hear or know of someone who is in need, please call, email, or text Pastor David Kappus, to let us know so that we can follow up and add them to the prayer chain.

If you are experiencing symptoms of COVID-19- cough, fever, or shortness of breath, self-quarantine, call your doctor. We can show our love for each other by taking basic precautionary steps:

- Wash your hands frequently with soap and water; if unavailable, use hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol.
- Cover your mouth and nose with a tissue or sleeve when coughing or sneezing.
- Avoid public gatherings and close contact (less than six feet away) with others.
- Frequently clean and disinfect objects and surfaces.
- Stay home and away from others, especially if you are sick.

Keep our medical professionals, politicians, and all affected by this virus in your prayers.

We continue to be the church during this time of national crisis. Consider how, with the compassion of Christ, you can reach out and support others. Keep your church and the world in prayer as we trust in God more deeply and faithfully in the days ahead!
